the machine upgraded

After reading the advice on some of the touring blogs I have made a few minor modifications to the machine. I added anothe bottle holder and bar ends to allow for a few different riding positions. the ends are easy to adjust to drop own in high winds. The removable front fender is very light weight. the front bag is a replacement for one that I lost mabe by bell it holds an led headlamp, mult- tool, tireirons, spare tube and sunscreen. It also has a map pocket and velcros quickly on and off.  Also got around to changing the front tire to get rid of the knobby and put on a road tread.

specs on the machine

This is the bike I plan to use. A Specialized Hardrock  26 inch mountain bike. This is my second specialized and has given me great riding for the past 18 months. I added the seat post shock and comfort saddle to the stock bike. I have also upgraded to Mavick wheels for a stronger spoke. 24 speeds, disc breaks and fluid shock the bike takes the road shock out of the ride which is a must for me.
